We don't hire often. When we do, the bar is high.
Digital Goat Consulting is a focused team that works exclusively with local service businesses across Southwest Florida. Every person here directly impacts client outcomes. We're selective because our clients depend on it.
Who We're Looking For
We work with business owners who are skeptical of agencies, tired of being sold to, and frustrated by websites that don't perform. The people who succeed here understand that dynamic — because they've lived it. We're not looking for order-takers or script-readers. We're looking for professionals who can walk into a business, read the room, and have a real conversation about what's working and what isn't.
If you've sold consulting services, managed client relationships in high-trust environments, or built a book of business through referrals and reputation — you understand the work. If you've only sold from behind a screen, this probably isn't the right fit.
Open Positions
Consulting Sales — Local Business Development
You'll be the first person a prospective client meets. You represent the firm in the field — walking into local businesses, conducting live technical demonstrations, diagnosing what's broken in their current web presence, and building relationships that turn into long-term engagements. This isn't script-reading or brochure-dropping. This is technical consulting disguised as a sales conversation.
The business owners we work with are sharp. They can tell when someone doesn't understand the product. That's why this role requires real technical fluency — you need to explain why a site is slow, what local SEO actually does, how search rankings work, and what a redesign will change for their business. If you can't speak to the technology with confidence, you can't earn the trust.
- 3+ years of B2B or technical consulting sales — services, marketing, technology, or SaaS
- Working knowledge of web design, SEO, hosting, and digital marketing — you don't need to write code, but you need to speak credibly about how websites are built, how search works, and what drives local visibility
- Proven track record of in-person client acquisition — not just inbound lead handling
- Ability to conduct live product demonstrations, diagnose a prospect's current web presence on the spot, and articulate a clear path to improvement
- Deep understanding of local business operations, owner psychology, and what makes a service business say yes
- Self-directed, accountable, and comfortable working independently in the field with minimal oversight
- Existing relationships in the Southwest Florida business community are a significant advantage
Web Designer / Developer
You'll build the websites our clients see in their demos and launch with after signing. Clean code, strong design instincts, fast turnaround, and an understanding of what makes local service businesses convert — not just look good.
- Strong portfolio of production websites — not just mockups or templates
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive/mobile-first design
- Understanding of page speed optimization, accessibility, and SEO fundamentals
- Ability to work from a design brief or client conversation — not just a Figma handoff
- Experience building for small/local businesses is strongly preferred
- Comfort with static sites, Astro, or lightweight frameworks — not just WordPress
Local SEO Specialist
You'll own the visibility strategy for our client portfolio — Google Business Profile optimization, local citation management, city-level content strategy, and reporting that demonstrates real results to business owners who don't speak SEO.
- 2+ years managing local SEO for service-area businesses
- Hands-on experience with Google Business Profile, citation platforms, and local ranking factors
- Ability to produce city-specific content that is genuinely useful — not keyword-stuffed filler
- Comfortable presenting results to non-technical business owners
- Experience with BrightLocal, Semrush, or equivalent tooling
- Understanding of NAP consistency, schema markup, and review generation strategy
What We Value
Ownership
You own your work and your outcomes. No one is checking your hours — we're checking your results.
Directness
Say what you mean. If something isn't working, say so. If you need help, ask. No politics.
Client-First
Every decision routes through one question: does this make the client's business better?
Quality Over Volume
We'd rather do fewer things well than many things poorly. That applies to clients, hires, and work product.
How to Apply
We don't use job boards or applicant tracking systems. If you're interested, reach out directly with a short note about who you are, what you've done, and why this work interests you. Include anything that demonstrates your ability — a portfolio, a case study, a deal you closed, a client you kept.
